A three-hour hand-sewing workshop at the A. G. Leventis Gallery in Nicosia, where participants make their own velvet pouch inspired by the gallery's Paris Collection.
The design takes its cue from Louis-Léopold Boilly's painting "Young Woman in White Leaning on a Sundial", which shows one of the earliest forms of the modern handbag. You work with soft velvet, delicate stitching and decorative details such as beads, pearl beads and sequins.
Run by Georgia Moditi and Anna Apostolou of Slow Sew, in Greek and English. Open to ages 15 and up and to all levels, complete beginners included. A place is confirmed after prepayment.
