The Cut Of Her Jib: A Darkly Comic Edinburgh Hit

A Sharp and Witty Dark Comedy

Get ready for a night of biting humor and raw emotion with The Cut Of Her Jib. This acclaimed production, fresh from a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Festival, arrives in Nicosia to deliver a masterclass in dark comedy.

What to Expect

Set against the backdrop of a stormy Edinburgh Hogmanay, the story follows the sudden disappearance of Belinda Crabbs’ husband. As the police tape goes up, enter Barbara—a cleaner whose forensic instincts and impeccable timing turn the situation on its head.

This play is a razor-sharp exploration of marriage, class, and the complexities of modern relationships. Expect:

• Biting Wit: A script packed with delicious cruelty and sharp one-liners.
• Relatable Themes: A deep dive into the realities of marital fatigue, female rage, and the unexpected liberation of widowhood.
• Acclaimed Writing: Written by the multi-award-winning Kathleen Ruddy, known for her bold and honest storytelling.

Critics have hailed the show as a "funny, joyful and cathartic gem" and a "belter of a show" with a brilliant cast. If you enjoy the dark, observational humor of Fleabag or the suburban chaos of Desperate Housewives, this is a performance you won't want to miss.
