The Effect: A Gripping Exploration of Love and Science at Satiriko Theatre

Experience a Powerful Psychological Drama

Prepare to be captivated by the Cyprus premiere of The Effect, a compelling play by the acclaimed British playwright Lucy Prebble. Directed by Evita Ioannou, this production invites you into the intense world of a clinical trial where the boundaries between genuine emotion and chemical influence begin to blur.

What to Expect

The story follows Connie and Tristan, two participants in a study for a new antidepressant. As their connection deepens, they are forced to confront a haunting question: is their attraction real, or is it merely a side effect of the medication? This award-winning drama, which earned the Critics' Circle Best New Play award, masterfully balances wit, emotional depth, and dark humor to explore the complexities of the human heart in the age of science.
