Gloria Gallery in Nicosia presents Belonging, a solo exhibition of paintings by Pascalis Anastasi about everyday life and the human need to feel that we belong somewhere.
Crowded streets, the sea and the Cypriot landscape, a mother with her child, a young woman on her phone, an elderly couple walking together: the artist watches people like a flâneur and builds stories from their faces, clothes and gestures — about loneliness, acceptance and identity.
Born in London to Cypriot parents and raised in Deryneia, Anastasi studied fine art in England and has lived and worked in Vavla since 1990. The opening is on the evening of 30 October; afterwards the gallery is open on weekday evenings and on Tuesday–Saturday mornings.
