Good afternoonkind.events
What remains of us when we move on? How do our bodies store the memories of places, people, and experiences we have lost? Residue is a poignant contemporary dance performance that invites you to reflect on the invisible threads connecting us to our past and our homeland.
Choreographed by Miranti Panagiotou, this evocative piece delves into the act of preservation—not just of physical objects, but of the stories and relationships that define our identity. Through a blend of movement and sound, the performance weaves together imagery of daily labor, water, and traditional textures to explore the cultural landscape of Cyprus.
A highlight of the evening is the live presence of the santur, a traditional stringed instrument played by Kypriana Konstantinidou. Its rhythmic, resonant tones act as a central character, grounding the performance in the atmosphere of ancient rituals and the steady pulse of the sea.
