Good afternoonkind.events
As part of the Nicosia International Festival 2026, the historic center of the city will host Chasing Life, a poignant audiovisual installation. This collaborative project, brought to life by director and photographer Eleonora Sotiriou and the creative team at Archlab10, transforms public space into a canvas for reflection.
Chasing Life is an evocative street projection that blends video, original animation, and artistic visual techniques to explore the profound themes of memory, loss, and the enduring nature of life. The work draws inspiration from the tragic events of July 2014 on Gaza Beach, using the universal symbol of children’s play to highlight the fragility of reality and the persistence of hope.
Rather than a linear narrative, the installation unfolds as a visual poem. The seed serves as a central metaphor throughout the piece, representing rebirth, continuity, and the way stories and lives continue to resonate long after they are gone. By placing this work near the buffer zone and the Green Line, the creators invite a dialogue about shared human experiences and the capacity to carry on in the face of adversity.
This seven-minute installation is a unique opportunity to engage with art that bridges the gap between distant events and our own immediate surroundings.
