Lotte at the Bauhaus: Film & Discussion at Goethe-Institut
Join us for a special screening of "Lotte at the Bauhaus" as part of the GoetheKino: Questions of her Own series. This compelling film tells the story of Lotte Brendel, a creative and freedom-loving young woman in Weimar, 1921, who dreams beyond the traditional roles of wife and mother.
Inspired by the artist Alma Zidhoff-Busch, the film, directed by Gregor Schnitzler, explores Lotte's passion for painting and craftsmanship against the backdrop of the avant-garde Bauhaus movement. Following the screening, engage in a thoughtful discussion with art theorist Evagor Vanesis and artist Kyriaki Costa, exploring the film's themes and its connection to the Cypriot context.
This event is a part of the KunstRaumGoethe exhibition "Between Imagination and Hope" and is supported by Phytorio. The film will be shown in German with English subtitles, and the discussion will be held in English.
