Apovathra / Power Beach

Christos Hadjichristou's exhibition Apovathra / Power Beach brings together two series of photographs created on the coast of Limassol: Apovathra, a series of portraits of young people encountered on the historic pier, and Power Beach, dedicated to adults training on Dasoudi Beach.

In Apovathra, the subjects look directly into the lens. This creates an immediate exchange, blurring the line between viewer and subject, capturing the transitional phase between youth and adulthood.

In Power Beach, this relationship shifts. Here, the athletes are captured engrossed in their movement, looking away from the lens. The focus shifts to discipline, effort, and physical control.

The exhibition, set against the backdrop of the common landscape of the Limassol coast, reflects people in moments of transition, effort, and visibility in public space.
