As part of the Nicosia International Festival 2026, we invite you to a unique concert that promises to take us into the depths of memory and tradition. Oud virtuoso Giannis Koutis presents his new album, "Words of Silence," in an evening where sound meets silence.

What to Expect

Giannis Koutis, known for his ability to bridge the musical traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean with contemporary artistic expression, will be joined by two exceptional, internationally renowned musicians:

• Marios Takoushis on piano
• Markus Stockhausen on flugelhorn

Together, the three artists form a unique trio, exploring Byzantine and Ottoman sounds, improvisation, and contemporary compositions that draw inspiration from their Cypriot homeland. Their music knows no borders, offering an experience characterized by lyricism, mysticism, and a deep sense of truth.
