Pianist and bandleader Giorgos Morfitis brings his ten-piece jazz chamber ensemble, The Nonnets, to the Pattihio Theatre in Limassol, with Eleonora Roussou on voice and flute.
The programme takes jazz standards and reworks them in Morfitis's own arrangements, written for an unusual line-up of three saxophones, flutes, two violins, viola, piano, double bass and drums. Improvisation meets strings and winds, and the sound shifts between the closeness of a jazz club and the breadth of a small orchestra.
With Charis Ioannou, Thomas Lumley, Nikolas Georgiou, Nikos Pittas, Charikleia Siamakkidi, Nikolas Eythimiou, Kyriakos Kestas and Omiros Miltiadous. Under-16s need an accompanying adult.
