Pore2MED 2026, the international scientific conference "Porous Materials for a Sustainable Future: A Mediterranean and Middle East Roadmap", takes place at the Adams Beach Hotel on Nissi Bay in Ayia Napa.
The programme covers metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), zeolites and other porous materials: CO2 capture and gas separation, hydrogen storage, photo- and electrocatalysis, energy storage, computational modelling and machine learning, advanced characterisation, and biomedical, sensing and water-treatment applications.
Plenary lectures include Omar Farha (MOFs from research to commercialisation), Veronique Van Speybroeck, Mercouri G. Kanatzidis, Yong Cui and Christian Serre. The conference is co-organised by KAUST, the University of Crete, the Université de Montpellier, Demokritos, the University of Alicante and the University of Cyprus.
Sunday evening opens with registration and a welcome reception; the scientific sessions run Monday to Wednesday and end with awards and closing remarks. The fee covers all sessions, the welcome reception, coffee breaks and lunches; PhD and Master's students pay a reduced rate, while the tour with gala dinner is booked separately.
