Led by the esteemed conductor Charles Olivieri-Munroe, the performance will feature the exceptional talent of Cypriot pianist Christos Fountos, a rising star recognized for his refined artistry and technical brilliance.
The program opens with Johann Sebastian Bach's majestic Chaconne from Partita in D minor, presented in Joachim Raff's powerful orchestral arrangement. This piece offers a profound sense of grandeur and spiritual intensity.
At the heart of the concert lies Sergei Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 1, a passionate and dazzling youthful work filled with unforgettable melodies that showcase the composer's burgeoning genius.
The symphony concludes with Robert Schumann's uplifting Symphony No. 1, "Spring." This joyful composition, inspired by nature's awakening and the composer's own creative resurgence, radiates optimism and lyrical warmth.
