Discover Art on the Waves
Prepare for a unique cultural experience as the Art Explora festival arrives in Limassol. This innovative project, developed in partnership with the Louvre Museum in Paris, features the world’s first travelling museum ship—a stunning 47-metre catamaran designed to bring art directly to the public.
What Awaits You On Board
Step inside this state-of-the-art vessel for an immersive journey through history and sound. The festival offers a thoughtfully curated programme that is completely free for all visitors:
- Mediterranean Sound Journey: An interactive audio experience that captures the vibrant cultural tapestry and natural sounds of the Mediterranean region.
- Virtual Reality (VR) Exploration: Use cutting-edge technology to walk through the ruins and archaeological wonders of the ancient world.
Festival Highlights
The festival unfolds in two distinct phases:
- On the Water (25 October – 2 November): The catamaran serves as the primary venue at Limassol Marina, hosting the core exhibition and immersive experiences. The official opening ceremony kicks off on 25 October at 4:00 pm.
- On the Shore (2–4 November): The celebration moves to the heart of Limassol. Expect a lively atmosphere along the seafront and in the historic centre, featuring a diverse array of theatre, dance, live music, film screenings, and art exhibitions that celebrate the local community.
Practical Information
While admission to all festival activities is free, please note that the ship has limited capacity. To ensure your spot on board the catamaran, it is essential to book your free e-ticket in advance through the official website.
