Dance Festival: Neighbourhood Rhythms

Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions of Cyprus, Greece, southern Italy, and Asia Minor at the 'Dance, Dance in the Neighbourhood' festival! Organized by the Cultural Workshop of Agioi Omologites, this beloved event returns to Nicosia, inviting everyone to join in a day filled with free dance workshops and a joyous community celebration.

On May 16th, the charming streets of the Agioi Omologites neighbourhood will come alive as an open-air stage for dancers, musicians, locals, and visitors alike. From 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, you can participate in free dance workshops accompanied by live music.

Explore diverse musical landscapes: at the Cultural Workshop, discover the music and dances of central Greece, Peloponnese, and Thrace with performers Charis Kapsokefalos and Antonis Ginosatis. Meanwhile, Cristina Frassanito and Emanuele Filella will share the captivating traditions of southern Italy with music along Agioi Omologites Avenue. At the Lyssarides Foundation, delve into the rich cultures of Cyprus, Asia Minor, and the Cyclades, brought to life by musicians Michalis Kouloumis, Kyriakos Markoulis, Nikos Economides, Kyriaki Spanou, Panagiotis Vergos, and Giorgos Gavras.

As the workshops conclude, the celebration continues from 7:00 PM onwards in the courtyard of the Church of Agioi Omologites. Join the 'glenti' for an evening of delightful music and performances that will bring the community together.
